WHAT IS THE BEST ATTIRE FOR GAME VIEWING SAFARI IN AFRICA

WHAT IS THE BEST ATTIRE FOR GAME VIEWING SAFARI IN AFRICA

An African safari is definitely a grand adventure that all world trotters hope to have and redo sometime. It takes travelers to vast and ever changing landscapes, spinning savannas, impenetrable forests, and unique cultures plus furnishing chances of tasting different delicacies of the African making.
Travelers immediately think of fun and thrilling adventures to engage in on a safari in Africa. But several factors determine the experience of the trip. From the activities, destinations, people, tour guide, food and the dressing.
Dressing is not only for the looks, but also the practical reasons to why people carefully choose what to wear on a safari. Coming for a holiday in Africa means getting really up close encounters with some of the world’s most beautiful wildlife. And at such a moment, what is the most appropriate attire for viewing wildlife in Africa.
Africa is continent that is so much blessed with a huge diversity of wild animals in its forests, fresh water lakes, mountains, savannas and swamps. Some of these are national parks because the wildlife here is one that was created to be protected.
Travelers usually spot the buffaloes, elephants, lions, oribis, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards among others on either a game drive or a walking safari. Either way you choose, both activities offer striking opportunities for encounters not so far from the wildlife. This would be a childhood dream come true.
However, keeping cool on an African safari is key. Dress in clothes that blend with the environment and in the African culture. Travelers especially the first time visitors to the continent ask themselves what to really wear for an African trip. The bottom line of this all is that one can wear anything they feel comfortable in.
Dress in neutral colors. Most trotters wonder why almost all safari goers dress in khakis. Well it is because they want to comflouge with the natural environment especially if going for a walking safari. The more trotters blend with the environment the better chances of spotting more wildlife as neutral colors.
Wear clothes that cover up. On any safari in Africa, it is very important that travelers protect their skins from the would be dangerous elements. Although the first thought would be to wear shorts and t-shirts, its better wearing long pants and long sleeved shirts that are not so thick and breathable. Yes, shorts would work for a game drive, but a walking safari means moving into the jungle, exposing your body to thorns and insects. So it’s always better to wear clothes that cover up.
Safari shirts. Button down shirts made of microfiber material are the best for game viewing in Africa because they can be cooler in heat than bare skin. Then a collar protects the back of your neck from direct sunshine and the long sleeves keep the arms from burning.
Safari pants. Most people don’t prefer convertible pants, but doubtlessly, the zip off options are definitely the perfect ones for a safari. The fact that Africa’s weather is ever changing, the morning could be a bit cold in the forests, and then it gets supper hot in the afternoon while driving or walking through the sprawling savannas. So the option to take off layers would be the best.
Safari shoes. Hiking shoes should be light and waterproof. Even when staying in the most expensive luxury lodge, you will be out to nature, so pack comfortable shoes with sturdy support on your safari in Africa. No one would want a shoe to become the hindrance of their fun on any trip. For ladies, don’t forget a nice pair of travel slippers to put on while at the lodge.
Safari hats. In Africa, the sun comes from all directions, whether in a well-covered safari vehicle of walking through the forest, it is important to wear a hat as it protects the face from the sun. Hats that have a brim all way are the most appropriate as the keep your eyes away from the sun to be able to watch the wildlife clearly.
Dressed in those attires, a game drive and a walking safari that exposes travelers to Africa’s wildlife can never be regrettable.
