BIRDING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK – UGANDA
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park covers districts of Kisoro, Kanungu and Kabale in the South western part of Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rain forests, which has existed for over 25,000 years. in Uganda because they can identify over 100 bird species in a day. The
globally threatened species such as African Green Broadbill and Shelley’s
Crimsonwing are also still in existence in Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

Cinnamon-chested bee-eater, Handsome francolin, Many-colored bushshrike, Mountain, Mountain-masked apalis, , Regal sun bird, Short-tailed warbler, Yellow-streaked greenbul, African Broad bill, Purple-breasted, Blue-headed and Regal Sunbirds, Short-tailed and Black-faced Rufous Warblers; Mountain-masked and Collared Apalis, Mountain Western green tinkerbird, and Many-colored Bush-Shrike, among others.

June and July have the least rain while March and towards the

bird-watching time. May and June is the
main nesting period with plenty of food from late May throughout September.
November to April is when the migratory birds are present.
